1982 Fender Precision Special with original tweed case This bass has been owned by one person from new (and had never been apart until I needed to check pots codes etc) it was used regularly for the first few years of ownership but in the last 20 years or so has hardly been out of the case. It is extremely original and is in nice condition. The pots are dated 1981 and the pick ups date to 1982, as does the serial number. It is finished in a pale metallic blue which has pretty much retained its original colour and features gold plated hard wear. It is usual for the gold plate to be pretty worn through, but on this example it is all in excellent condition. |

The body does have a few small chips on it and also a few scratches. (I think these will polish out mainly, but I didn’t want to attempt it because its so original). The neck is pretty good but has ding half way up (I am going to see if this can be professionally repaired as I think this bass is worth it). The sound is amazing – in passive mode it sounds like a good old Precision but when you flick to active the sound is huge and very powerful. Everything works as it should. The case is the original tweed case, quite tatty on the outside but fully functional and all hinges and catches work. I have a copy of the owner’s handbook too, which will be included. |

These basses are very sort after now and tipped to become highly collectable with prices to match. They were only made for a very short time and they don’t come up for sale very often. Please phone or email for more details. I have more photos. £1295
